It's About the Breathing
Last night was our Baby Class. We got a bunch of fliers and magazines and just bunches of stuff to read. We also got a free (I say free but the class cost $60 so it isn't really free) diaper bag with the breastfeeding essentials kit (a book on how to do it, a couple ice packs to keep stuff cold, rebate offers on breast pumps, a sample nursing pad, and my favorite a formula sample-just what you need when you are breast feeding) it also came with A diaper from huggies that includes an instruction manual for men with ten steps to changing your baby (I told Holly she didn't have to worry now because I had an instruction manual) she didn't seem so convinced. We also took a quick video tour of the Hospital of which was rather annoying because the camera man never really panned the room so you never really saw the rooms as much as doors and hallways. We also got to hear all about the amazing amenities they offer like a non reclining chair for me to sleep in, or the baby channel for us to watch that would teach us how to be parents (I'm thinking if you don't know by now you are in trouble-of course I don't think anyone ever really knows how to be a parent) Holly was excited that no one is aloud to her bathroom that I have to walk out to the waiting room to do my business. We are also a little worried about all the bands they put on our child including a security band that they explain as one of those house arrest bands that criminals have to wear. This band insures that if the baby gets within so many feet of an open exit door an alarm will go off. We also discussed the visitation policy they have place for the flu season the only people aloud to come visit are Ken, Dad and Frances no one else will be permitted admittance to he Hospital. The other thing that stinks is that only two people are aloud past the waiting room doors at a time so when Dad and Frances come visit only one of them can come back at a time or I have to leave so both of them can come back. On the bright side hopefully as long as there are no problems we will be out of the Hospital in 24hrs and then everyone can see the little munchkin at our house. The majority of the class however was spent doing breathing exercises. We learned the cleansing breath, and the he he who breathing, and the constipated hold your breath while pushing breathing, and lastly the feather breathing in the event you feel you need to push but you shouldn't. Next week we get to learn about drug options and C-sections.
