Car Wash and Parallel Parking

Mary and the girls came down for the weekend because the girls wanted to see Holly one last time before their cousin comes. We had a fun relaxing weekend and enjoyed the company of the family. We didn't really do anything but sit around and relax except when we went shopping (really it was how we got Holly to do lots of walking but we called it shopping so she wanted to go). Holly and I do not have a driveway so we park on the street in front of our house which required Mary to parallel park all weekend. After the first day of trying and the subsequent teasing she received she just stopped trying and will pull in and leave her back end hanging out in the street. After our trip to Costco Mary stopped to get her car washed with the coupons she got from Susan for Christmas. It is an automatic carwash that you pull into then it sprays all around you. Mary apparently also has trouble pulling forward too because she went to far right so her tire ending up driving up onto the safety bumper. The van wouldn't just easily roll forward like it normally does (because it was against the bar) Holly tried to tell Mary you are to far over but Mary just gave the van more gas and rolled right up onto the bar at this point the car very noticeably tips to the left but Mary keeps going then she gets this confused look on her face like what is going on meanwhile Holly is yelling at her that she pulled up on the bar and needs to go left. Luckily about this time Mary realized she should stop (after she had pulled up a 2 or 3 feet on the pole) she then backed up and pulled in the correct way. Holly and I were laughing the rest of the way home. When we arrived at home Mary had to again parallel park. She started attempting to park and was not doing a very good job (when she gets about 5 feet away from the cars she starts pumping the brakes and moves about an inch at a time even with us telling her you have plenty of room) Holly and I again started laughing so Mary got frustrated put the car in park got out and said fine you park the car. This is where all the laughing and mocking comes back to haunt me. I jumped in the driver’s seat and long story short I ended up on the curb. Morale of the story no matter how bad someone is driving don't laugh you might have one of those moments soon afterwards.
